Surgical interventions - Procedures

Realisation

  Realisation

We performe all surgeries exclusively in Clinica Novo Sancti Petri (Chiclana de la Frontera) and in Clínica Los Álamos (Jerez de la Frontera).

Most surgical procedures of the speciality of Otolaryngology are performed in hospitals. However the stay in hospital is very short and normally it doesn't exceed 24 hours.

Pre-anesthesia

  Pre-anesthesia

Once the surgical treatment is started, the patient comes to the pre-anesthesia consultation for evaluation by the anesthesist who will assist during the operation. He will explain all the doubts concerning the surgery and do the necessary tests: Blood test, X-rays, electrocardiogram, etc...

Currently, most interventions are carried out under general anesthesia, which contrary to popular belief, represents far fewer risks than local anesthesia in most cases.

Hospitalisation

  Hospitalisation

The patient is admitted to hospital on the day of the surgery, a few hours before the operation.

The patient stays in a single room with companion, that way he can be quickly taken to the operation room.

Recovery

  Recovery

After the surgery the patient remains a while in the recovery room which has all the necessary equipment for intensive care.

Usually the time the patient spends in the recovery room is less than one hour.

Then the patient is transferred to the room.

Discharge

  Discharge

Normally the stay in hospital doesn't last more than 24 hours, so most patients can leave the clinic on the next morning after the surgery.
